About Albrim LS Eye Drop

BRIMONIDINE contains an ophthalmic medication, Brimonidone (alpha-adrenergic agonist), used only or in combination with other medicines to lower increased eye pressure (ocular hypertension). It may lead to an illness called glaucoma if not treated and can lead to permanent vision loss. Glaucoma is an eye disease in which the optic nerve is damaged. This damaged nerve leads to an increase in eye pressure abnormally and can lead to permanent vision loss.

BRIMONIDINE contains Brimonidone, sympathomimetic in nature. It is primarily used in treating increased pressure of the eye. It works by decreasing the production of aqueous humor (fluid in the eye) and reducing eye pressure. If the pressure becomes abnormally high, it can also lead to loss of sight. BRIMONIDINE should be put only in the affected eye, and contact with the normal eye should be avoided.  If you wear contact lenses or wearing them, remove it before using BRIMONIDINE, and you can put it back 15 minutes after using BRIMONIDINE.

BRIMONIDINE contains Brimonidone, which is a sympathomimetic in nature. It is primarily used in treating increased pressure of the eye. BRIMONIDINE works by decreasing the production of aqueous humor (fluid in the eye) and reducing eye pressure. If the pressure is too high or left untreated, it can lead to optic nerve damage and permanent loss of sight. Increased eye pressure is a major cause of vision loss in people aged 60 years and above. BRIMONIDINE should be put only in the affected eye, and contact with the normal eye should be avoided. 

Directions for Use

BRIMONIDINE generally comes in drop form. Use it in dose as prescribed by your doctor. number of drops in each eye is prescribed depending upon your medical condition. When you use BRIMONIDINE, apply pressure on the corner of your eye by closing your nose for one minute for better results of BRIMONIDINE.

Side Effects of Albrim LS Eye Drop

Like all medicines, BRIMONIDINE can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. You may experience watery eyes, irritation, itchy eyes, red eyelid, pain, abnormal taste, dizziness, foreign body sensation, abnormal vision in some cases. Most of these side effects of BRIMONIDINE are temporary, do not require medical attention, and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Drug Warnings

Do not take BRIMONIDINE if you are allergic to BRIMONIDINE, Brimonidone, or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have or ever had depression, heart disease or heart problems, poor blood circulation problem (especially to fingers or toes), reduced mental capacity before starting BRIMONIDINE. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have or ever had liver or kidney problems, consult your doctor as a dose adjustment may be required. BRIMONIDINE is not recommended for children below the age of 17 years. BRIMONIDINE is for external use only. Before using it, break the seal and wash your hands to avoid any infection. If you wear contact lenses or wearing them, remove it before using BRIMONIDINE, and you can put it back 15 minutes after using BRIMONIDINE. Use BRIMONIDINE within 4 weeks after breaking the seal. When you use BRIMONIDINE, apply pressure on the corner of your eye by closing your nose for one minute for better results of BRIMONIDINE. Please monitor your blood pressure regularly as BRIMONIDINE can cause an increase or decrease in blood pressure. Do not put two eye medications together; wait for at least 5 minutes before putting the second medication.

Drug-Drug Interaction:

BRIMONIDINE may have an interaction with monoamine oxidase inhibitor (isocarboxazid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), antidepressants (amitriptyline, amoxapine, clomipramine, desipramine, doxepin, imipramine, nortriptyline, protriptyline, trimipramine), barbiturates (phenobarbital, secobarbital), heart disease medications (digoxin), medicines for mental illness ( chlorpromazine, methylphenidate, reserpine), anti-hypertensives (metoprolol, atorvastatin), and diuretics (furosemide).
